2 more die with corona-like symptoms in Satkhira

Two more people have died with symptoms similar to that of coronavirus or Covid-19 in last 24 hours while undergoing treatment in isolation unit of Satkhira Medical College Hospital.

With their deaths, a total of 21 people have died with coronavirus-like symptoms in the district.

Dr Jayanta Sarkar, a medical officer of Satkhira civil surgeon office, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (June 24) morning.

The deceased are Iman Ali, 50, son of Yusuf Ali of Kumira village in Tala upazila and Daud Ali, 52, son of Mosabbir Sardar of Atulia village in Kalaroa upazila.

Medical officer Dr Jayanta Sarkar said Iman Ali was admitted to Satkhira Medical College Hospital with fever, diarrhea and breathing complications on Monday (June 22) last but died around 10 pm on Tuesday.

Daud Ali suffering from fever, diarrhea and breathing problems was admitted to Satkhira Medical College Hospital on Thursday (June 18) but he died on Tuesday night, he said.

Their samples were collected to confirm whether they were infected with coronavirus or not, he added.

Besides, a total of 105 coronavirus patients have been detected so far in the district as of today morning.
