2 women raped in Moulvibazar, 7 arrested

Two housewives were raped at Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.

Police arrested 7 individuals for their alleged involvement in the incident.

The two women were raped at Dewrachhara tea garden area while they were returning home on Friday night, after meeting husband in the district jail.

Police said the two women are not familiar each other. Husband of one of the women jailed in a case. They were returning home by an auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw driver called some others who raped them in turns.

Faruk Ahmed, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Moulvibazar, confirmed the news of arresting 7 over the incident.

Lodging case in this connection was under process while the report was filed, he added.
