3 die as cattle-laden truck turns turtle

Cumilla Correspondent: Three people have died as a cattle-laden truck turned turtle at Chaudagram upazila in Cumilla. Six cattle were also killed in the accident.

The incident took place at Chiora area of the upazila early Wednesday.

The deceased were known as Khokon Mia of Lathipara village of Jhenidah, Samaul of the same village and Anowar Hossain of Moheshpur Sibanpur.

According to highway police, the traders were heading towards Chattogram with the cattle ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha. The truck ditched into a roadside truck after its driver lost the control over its steering, leaving three killed on the spot. Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent to Chaudagram Upazila Health Complex.

Abdul Kalam Azad, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Miabazar Highway Police Outpost, confirmed the news.
