3 doctors among 27 test positive for coronavirus in Narsingdi

Twenty-seven people including three doctors have tested positive for coronavirus in Narsingdi, taking the total number of infected people in the district at 92.

Of the new cases, 12 are from sadar upazila while 4 of Shibpur, 9 of Belabo and 2 of Raipur.

Imrul Kayes, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and chief of the district coronavirus prevention cell, confirmed the news on Friday noon.

It was learnt that the infected people of the district include physicians, engineers, project officials, journalists, employees of health directorate and children.

Sample of 38 suspects was sent to Dhaka for testing coronavirus on Wednesday. Of them, 27 people were detected positive. All infected people have been kept at isolation unit of Narsingdi 100 bed sadar hospital.

Mentionable, the first case of coronavirus was detected at Polash of the district on April 6. Later on April 9, the district administration placed the district on lockdown.
