4 killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfights’

Four people, including Rohingya drug peddlers were killed in separate gunfights with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early Saturday (March 28).

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

BGB-2 Battalion Captain Lt Col Md Faisal Hasan Khan said a gunfight took place between BGB members and drug traders in Leda Churikhal area of Hnnila union of the upazila early today, leaving three Rohingyas dead.

The deceased were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy,  he said.

Meanwhile, a drug trader was killed in another gunfight in Tulatuli area of Whaikong union of the upazila, said Pradip Kumar Das, Inspector of Teknaf Police Station.
