4 killed in Cumilla road crash

Cumilla Correspondent:  At least four people killed and 16 others injured as a bus hit a truck in Kesonpar area of Lalmai upazila on Thursday night.

Md Mostafa Kamal, in-charge of Lalmai Highway police outpost, said a bus of Doel Paribahan hit a truck parked beside the road around 8.30pm on Cumilla-Chandpur road, leaving four dead on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Hasina Akhter, 35, at Lalmai upazila, Nurjahan Begum, 47, at the same upazila, Abul Bashar, 37, at Barura upazila, and Ali Hossain, 67, of the same upazila.

The accident occurred during heavy rain at 8pm, he said.

The injured were admitted at Comilla Medical College Hospital and other hospitals.
