4 members of a family slaughtered to death

Four members of a family were slaughtered to death at Purbo Rotnapalong village in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sokhi Barua, wife of late Probin Barua; Mila Barua, daughter-in-law of Sokhi Barua and her two grandchildren Robin and Soni.

On information, police rushed to the spot and found the four throat-slit bodies in the floor, said ABM Masud Hossain, superintendent of police (SP) of Cox's Bazar.

Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

The reason behind the four murders could not be known immediately, the SP added.
