48 more infected with coronavirus in Narsingdi

48 new coronavirus patients have been detected in Narsingdi, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 1,079.

Narsingdi civil surgeon office confirmed matter on Monday (June 15).

Of those newly infected, 21 were from Sadar upazila, two from Palash upazila, five from Monohardi upazila, six from Shibpur upazila, three from Belabo upazila and 11 from Raipura upazila, according to the civil surgeon office.

As many as 5,730 samples were collected so far from the district out of them results of 4,955 samples were revealed. Of them, a total of 1,079 people have tested coronavirus positive.

Of those infected originally, 736 were from Narsingdi Sadar upazila, 93 from Palash upazila, 78 from Shibpur upazila, 76 from Raipura upazila, 57 from Belabo upazila and 39 from Monohardi upazila.

A total of 16 patients have died of coronavirus infections so far in the district.
