5 Ansar Al Islam members held in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a drive and detained five members of banned militant outfit ‘Ansar Al Islam’ including a woman member from Belpukur area of Rajshahi Saturday night.

The detainees are Afroja Begum, 55, wife of Ansar Ali and her son Anisur Rahman alias Saddam, 30, Ruhul Amin, 31, son of Azizul Alam, Mamun-Or-Rashid, 37, son of Nizam Uddin and Abu Talha, 21, son of Siddik Talha.

A foreign pistol, 2 magazines, 5 rounds of bullet, 24 cocktails, 10 jihadi books and 8 jihadi notebooks were recovered from their possession.

RAB-5 Company Commander Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mainul Islam said a process is underway to file a case against the detainees.
