5 bank officials infected with corona in Nilphamari

Five bank officials have been found to be infected with coronavirus or COVID-19 in Nilphamari district, raising the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the district to 21.

Dr Ranojit Kumar Barman, civil surgeon of the district, confirmed the matter on Saturday (May 2) night.

The five bank officials were detected coronavirus positive following tests at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur, the civil surgeon said.

The infected were taken at the isolation ward of the district's Sadar General Hospital, he added.

The upazila administration issued a mass circular locking down the mess where they would stay and its adjacent areas.

The mess is located close to the Dimla branch of Rajshahi Agriculture Development Bank.
