5 get death penalty for killing Toyon

Five people have been awarded with death penalty for killing Tafsin Hossain Toyon.

Judge of Khulna Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal Md Nazrul Hawlader pronounced the verdict on Sunday noon.

The court also fined Tk 50,000 each.

The convicts are Kazi Murad Hossain, Kazi Rounakul Islam Rono, Kazi Md Forhad Hossain, Zakir Hossain and Md Saiful Islam. Among the accused, Zakir Hossain is absconding.

The court has also acquitted two persons-Kazi Sabbir Hossain Fahim and Kazi Masum- from the case.

According to the case statement, the convicts killed Tafsin Hossain Toyon, 32, on August 28 in 2018.

Later, victim’s father filed a case in this connection with Khalispur Police Station.
