846 corona patients in Gazipur

The number of coronavirus cases has been increasing in Gazipur district.

According toGazipur Civil Surgeon, a total of 58 corona patients were newly found until Monday morning, raising the total confirmed cases to 846 in the district.

Gazipur Civil SurgeonMdKhairuzzaman confirmed the matter.

Among the new patients, 43 inGazipursadarupazila, nine inKaliganjupazila, oneinKapasiaupazila and fiveinKaliakoirupazila.

Among the 846 patents in the district, 505 patients are inGazipursadarupazila, the highest number in the district.  Four patients died in the district.

People are ignoring social distancing rules in the densely-populated district. Low-income people such as day labourers, rickshaw pullers and auto-rickshaw drivers are still coming out of their homes amid shutdown, sources said.
