Ansar member shot dead

An Ansar member named Hossain Ali has been shot dead by miscreants at Hashimpur Bazar under Jashore sadar upazila. 

The incident took place around 11:00am on Saturday.

Hossain Ali was the son of Asad Ali Tarafdar of the sadar upazila.

Once Hossain Ali was a member of an outlaw party. In 1999, he returned to normal life under a surrender programme. Then, he was appointed as an Ansar member as per the government’s rehabilitation programme. He returned to his own house of Jashore on November 28.

Police and witnesses said several unidentified gunmen shot Hossain Ali when he was drinking tea at a tea stall, leaving him dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Thana told risingbd police have visited the spot, and the dead body has been sent to the Jashore General Hospital morgue. 

To mourn his death, the Ansar member left behind two sons and a daughter.
