Backlog of cases for delayed trial process: Chief Justice

Staff Correspondent: Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Md Mozammel Hossain on Friday said that the trial of separate cases is interrupted in country’s courts for its delay processes.

The Chief Justice made this comment while addressing 17th founding anniversary of Jatiya Samannita Unnayan Parishad, a social-economic development organisation, at Diploma Engineers’ Institute in the capital.

“If the number of judges and manpower at all the courts in the country can be increased, the backlog of cases will be reduced and the people will be got judgment in appropriate time,” says, Mozammel Hossain.

Former Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Mohammad Farasuddin, Rabea Khan, Mahfuza Khanam, Poet Asad Chowdhury and Journalist Ajoy Das Gupta were also present, among others, at the programme.
