Lightning strike kills 2 brothers in Tangail

Two brothers have been killed in a lightning strike while they were cutting paddies at Kalihati upazila in Tangail district.

The incident took place at Nuabari village in Bir Bashinda Union of the upazila around 9 am on Saturday (May 18).

The deceased were identified as Afjal Hossain and Amir Hossain, hailing from Pirganj upazila of Dinajpur. They were cousins.

Bir Bashinda Union Parishad Chairman Sohrab Hossain said two brothers were killed and four others were injured as a thunderbolt struck them at a paddy field owned by Hazrat Ali while they were cutting paddies.
