Bangabandhu’s close aid Mojibul Haque named in Razakar list!

Mojibul Haque alias Naya Bhai, one of the close aids of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was named in the Razakar list recently published by the Liberation War Affairs Ministry.

Family members and local Freedom Fighters (FFs) expressed their discontent over the matter. The incident also sparked strongly criticism on social media.

Family sources of Mojibul Haque and local Freedom Fighters said, “Mojibul Haque studied with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Islamia College in Kolkata. He resided with Bangabandhu with Baker Hostel. He was a close of the Father of the Nation ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’.

Mojbul Haque alias Naya Bhai was president of Patharghata unit of Mukti Sangram Parishad since formation of its very beginning in 1973. He was also founder of the upazila Awami League.

His wife Nur Jahan Begum, 87, said, “My husband passed away on December 31, 2007. He did politics with Bangabandhu. He operated Sangram Parishad. He provided assistance to Freedom Fighters who took shelter at our home during the Liberation War. How was the man included in the list of Razakar? I demand justice for it. Hope, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will make justice in this regard.”

She further said, “Banghabandhu walked away keeping hands on my husband’s shoulders. Sheikh Hasina paid Salam to him. I want to know how this man included in Razakar list?”
