Bangabandhu’s killer Majed secretly buried in Narayanganj

The body of Abdul Majed, one of the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has been secretly buried at his father-in-law’s house in Sonargaon of Narayanganj early Sunday.

Earlier, the body was handed over to his family members after his execution at 12:01 am.

The body carrying ambulance came out from inside the jail at 3.30pm on the following night of Saturday (April 11).

It was first decided that Abdul Majed's body would be taken to Borhanuddin of Bhola. But in the face of strong objection from the locals for the burial of Majed, Bhola district administration did not agree to take any risk, according to a local source.

Later, the body was secretly buried at his father-in-law’s house in Sonargaon of Narayanganj early Sunday (April 12), after taking decision from his family.

Seeking anonymity, a local resident said father-in-law’s house of Majed is in Sonargaon of Narayanganj. Several vehicles came there early Sunday. Later, his body was secretly buried there.

When contacted, sub-inspector Abdul Wadud, duty officer of Sonargaon police station, said they did not receive any such news administratively.
