Bangladesh U-19 cricket team stormed into ICC U-19 World Cup semifinals beating South Africa U-19 team by 104 runs in the Super League Quarter-final-3 at the Potchefstroom in South Africa on Thursday.
Bangladeshi bowler Rakibul’s five-wicket haul gave junior Tigers a big victory against mighty hosts.
Bangladesh will now face New Zealand in the semi-finals. The best South Africa can now hope for is to finish fifth.
The hosts managed to score 157 runs losing all wickets in 42.3 overs.
Earlier, Junior Tigers posted 261 runs losing 5 wickets in 50 overs.
Tanzid Hasan hit a brilliant score of 80 runs off 84 balls with 12 fours.
Shahadat Hossain (3) * hit an innings of 74 runs from 76 balls which includes 7 fours and a six.
Towhid Hridoy scored 51 runs off 73 balls with 2 fours while Parvez Hossain Emon 17 off 40 balls with 3 fours.
Skipper Akbar* Ali hit 16 runs from 11 balls with a four.
