Bangladeshi dies of coronavirus in US

A 78-year-old Bangladeshi citizen died of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the United States.

He passed away at a New York hospital around 7 pm on Saturday (April 18) Bangladesh time.

The deceased was Abdul Hamid, son of late Moulvi Ibrahim and a resident of Poschim Maijdee area of Noakhali pourashova.

He had been living in New York with family members for last seven years.

Confirming the matter, Mizanur Rahman Palash, younger son of the deceased, said his father had been suffering from fever and breathing complications for several days.

He was detected with coronavirus following tests at a local hospital on Friday last, Palash said.
