Boat capsize in Jamuna river: 5 missing, 22 rescued

Jamalpur Correspondent: A boat carrying 27 passengers capsized in Jamuna river in Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur due to inclement weather.

Five passengers still remained missing and 22 others were rescued alive in this connection.

The boat capsized while it was going to Char Halka Hawrabari area from Futani bazar in the upazila around 8:00 pm on Wednesday.

Confirming the matter, Nur Uddin, station officer of Jamalpur Fire Service, said 16 passengers were rescued yesterday night and 6 more have been rescued this morning.
