Bogura New Market shut for flouting health guidelines

The New Market in Bogura district has been shut down for not complying with the health guidelines set by the government.

Deputy Commissioner Foyez Ahmed on Wednesday (May 13) noon announced that the New Market in the district will remain closed as the residents here are not seen to follow health guidelines.

The decision came as the residents living here in the city started swarming the markets breaching health guidelines, raising concerns among the local people to get infected with coronavirus or COVID-19.

Shopping malls and markets were permitted to reopen on Sunday last since they had remained shut for straight 45 days.

Soon after the reopening of markets, 11 people got newly infected with coronavirus yesterday.
