Bourses to remain closed till May 30

The county's two bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchanges (DSE) and Chattogram Stock Exchanges (CSE), have extended their ongoing closure till May 30 in accordance with extended public holidays declared by the government to contain the transmission of coronavirus.

This was confirmed from separate press releases issued from both the DSE and CSE on Saturday (May 16).

The trading and settlement activities on the DSE and CSE will remain closed till May 30 in line with the extended government holidays, according to the authorities of both the bourses.

The public administration ministry issued a gazette notification on Thursday (May 14), extending the shutdown to May 30, including Eid-ul-Fitr, weekly and special holidays.

The government further extended the ongoing shutdown until May 30 as the death toll from COVID-19 and the number of COVID-19 patients keep rising.
