It was learnt that Setafur Rahman, official of Kushtia Sugar Mills, registered a gun after his name. But he died some days back. After his departure, all family members reached a decision to re-register the gun after name of Atikur Rahman Elen, son of late Setafur Rahman. According to the decision, Elen met Anwar Hossain with all documents necessary to renew the license.    had received Tk 90,000 as bribe. But he (Awnar) demanded two lakh taka as bribe for this.

At one stage, Elen gave him Tk 90,000. Some days later, he demanded more one lakh taka more. Finally, the file was filed up as Elen denied to pay money anymore.

Elen, later, informed DC over the matter. He immediately transferred Anwar Hossain to Khoksa and asked him to return the money.

Finally, Anwar returned Elen Tk 90,000 on Thursday.

Anwar confessed to receiving and returning the bribe money. He said, “I returned the money with the instruction of top authority.”

He, however, denied all allegations brought against him.

Victim Elen said, “Anwar Hossain returned Tk 90,000 to my brother’s account of Islami Bank, Kushtia Branch, after DC ordered him in this regard.”
