Bus service in Meherpur stopped for 3 days

Meherpur Correspondent:  Inter-district bus service on all roads from Meherpur has been stopped for the third consecutive day on Saturday over the conflict between transport owners and workers.

According to sources, plying of all buses on Meherpur-Kushtia road, Meherpur-Chuadanga road and Meherpur-Mujibnagar road have remained suspended from Saturday morning, causing immense sufferings to thousands of passengers.

At a press conference on Friday, General Secretary of Transport Owners Association Golam Rasul said we met the demand of workers earlier but violating that they are now raising new demands. Now, we want a written deal with the workers.

On the other hand, Meherpur Motor Sramik Union General Secretary Motiur Rahman alleged that we can work 36 days after stop of 46 days. As a result, we are to pass a miserable condition with family members during the closing days. Now, we demand increasing our working days.
