Chattogram reports 159 new virus cases, 5 deaths

159 more people have tested positive for coronavirus or Covid-19 in last 24 hours in Chattogram metropolitan area and district, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the port city to 7,625.

Besides, five more people died of the deadly virus over the same period, taking the total number of deaths to 165.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, disclosed the information on Saturday (June 27) morning.

159 people were found infected newly with the virus in last 24 hours after carrying out sample tests of 890 people at six PCR labs in Chattogram, the civil surgeon said.
