Chattogram reports 167 new Covid-19 cases

A total of 167 new coronavirus or Covid-19 patients have been detected in Chattogram metropolitan area and Chattogram district in last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the port city to 11,931.

Of those newly infected, 109 were from metropolitan area and 58 from different upazilas of Chattogram district.

Besides, one female doctor died of the deadly virus (Covid-19) over the same period, bringing the total number of deaths in the port city to 217.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed the information on Wednesday (July 15) noon.

One died, 16 people recovered and 167 people have been found infected with coronavirus or Covid-19 after carrying out sample tests of 965 people in six public and private labs in Chattogram in last 24 hours, the civil surgeon said.
