Chattogram reports 297 new virus cases, 3 deaths

Three more people have died from coronavirus or Covid-19 in Chattogram metropolitan area and Chattogram district in last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the port city to 198.

Besides, a total of 297 new coronavirus patients were detected in Chattogram over the same period, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the port city to 10,477.

Of those newly infected, 229 were from Chattogram city corporation area and 68 from different upazilas of Chattogram district.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed the information on Tuesday (July 7) morning.

297 more people have been found infected with coronavirus or Covid-19 after carrying out sample tests of 1,360 people at six public and private labs in Chattogram in last 24 hours, the civil surgeon said.

As many as 1,265 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals after making recoveries and more than 4,000 patients have recovered during isolation in their respective homes so far in the district, he added.
