Child dies with coronavirus symptoms in Gopalgonj

An eight-year-old girl has died with coronavirus or COVID-19 symptoms in Tungipara upazila of Gopalgonj.

The child passed away at her house in Gimadanga Uttarpara village of the upazila on Sunday (April 19).

Tungipara upazila health and family planning official Dr Md Jasimuddin said father of the child came home from Dhaka a week ago. Afterwards, the child started showing symptoms such as fever, cold, cough and breathing complications and died this morning.

Samples have been collected from the child and her family members, he said.
