Corona tests also in Chattogram from Sunday

Necessary detection kits will reach Chattogram on Sunday to facilitate the tests for coronavirus or COVID-19.

The coronavirus tests are scheduled to begin at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID) in Fouzdarhat area of Sitakunda in Chattogram from tomorrow (March 22).

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon at Chattogram, disclosed the information on Saturday (March 21).

“Necessary preparations have been taken at the BITID to carry out tests for coronavirus. Necessary testing kits will also reach Chattogram by tomorrow. Besides, isolation unit has opened at the same hospital for coronavirus patients,” the civil surgeon said.

A total of 857 people, who returned from different countries, have been asked to remain in home quarantine, he said, adding that no one has been found to be infected with coronavirus so far in Chattogram.
