Cotton godown catches fire in Ashulia

Savar Correspondent: A devastating fire broke out at a cotton godown of a thread factory at Shimultola area in Jamgora of Ashulia on Tuesday morning.

The fire originated around 10:15 am.

Five fire-fighting units are working to douse the blaze.

Jahangir Alom, senior station officer of DEPZ Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the matter.

“The fire has spread to many parts of the godown. Five fire-fighting units are trying to douse the fire,” Jahangir Alom said.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, he added.
