Couple die in Bagerhat just 3 hrs apart

An elderly couple has passed away at Morelganj municipality area in Bagerhat just 3 hours apart.

75-year-old wife died at 6:10am on Wednesday. Just after nearly 3 hours, her 83-year-old husband passed away around 9:00am.

Being informed, a five-member medical team rushed to the house. They talked to the family members over the incident.

According to the dead couple’s son, they both had been suffering from diabetes and heart complications. They returned home from India in last January after treatment. Since they were sick and had been staying inside home.

He further said they were not suffering from fever or shortness of breath. Nobody of the house went out since March 25 as the coronavirus pandemic began.

Morelganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mufti Kamal Hossain said medical team rushed to the spot. They came to know that the couple died of old-age complications as they had been ill for long days.

He further said members of the family have been asked to remain cautious due to coronavirus crisis. They have also been asked to maintain contact with Upazila Health Division.

The family will be kept under surveillance, he added.
