Covid-19 cases rise to 722 in Habiganj

117 more coronavirus or Covid-19 cases have been detected in Habiganj in last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 722.

Dr Mokhlesur Rahman Ujjal, deputy civil surgeon of the district, confirmed the information on Wednesday (July 1) afternoon.

117 new people were found infected with coronavirus or Covid-19 after carrying out tests on samples which were sent to Dhaka from Habiganj from June 23 to 28, the civil surgeon said.

Of those newly infected, 59 were from Sadar upazila, 17 from Madhabpur upazila, 16 from Chunarughat upazila, 15 from Nabiganj upazila, 9 from Bahubal upazila and one from Baniachong upazila, he said.

A total of six people have died and 218 recovered from the deadly virus so far in the district, he added.
