Ctg, Benapole ports to remain open 24 hrs

Secretariat Correspondent: The government has taken decision to keep open Chittagong sea port and Benapole land port for 24 hours.
The government has taken the decision to make import-export trade easier and dynamic.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan came up with the disclosure at the conference room of the ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.
He said, "We decided to keep open banks and customs offices at Chittagong sea port and Benalpole land port for 24 hours in 7 days from August 1. National Board of Revenue (NBR) agreed on the issue and the organisation has already begun its activities."
"We gave proposal to the Prime Minister in this regard. She will inaugurate the activities through video conference," he added.
The Minister said three more terminals are being constructed at Chittagong port. Hope, Patenga terminal will start its operation within 2018.
