Daughter’s wedding: Father killed in road accident

A motorcycle passenger named Hazi Abul Hasem has been killed as an engine-run trolley hit him at Amla union of Mirpur upazila in Kushtia on Tuesday morning.

The accident took place 10:00am at Dakhil More of Kushtia-Meherpur highway.

Abul Hasem, 60, was the son-in-law of Sher Ali of this area and was the owner of Bismillah Garments in Amla Bazar. 

Deceased’s son named Sohan told to risingbd, “My younger sister’s wedding is next Friday. So, my father went out to invite our relatives.’’ 

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Amla police station said, “Abul Hasem died at the spot as the trolley hit him. Locals seized the trolley, but driver fled from the spot.’’

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirpur police station Abul Kalam Azad said police recovered the body and now investigating the matter.’’
