Ex-UP member killed in rival attack

An ex-Union Parishad member named Abu Bakar Siddique, 55, was killed in a rival attack over a previous enmity at Sarail in Brahmanbaria on Thursday evening. 

The deceased UP member was the son of late Chamak Bepari.

Sarail Circle Assistant Police Super Masud Rana confirmed the news.

He said present UP member Shah Alam and ex-UP member Abu Bakar Siddique had a conflict for a longtime.

Over a cocktail blast on Thursday evening, supporters of Shah Alam attacked Abu Bakar Siddique in Baparipara area around 7.30pm, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately taken to Brahmanbaria sadar hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
