Expatriate flees hospital

A Qatar expatriate has fled a hospital in Nasirnagar of Brahmanbaria receiving no treatment assuming that he may have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The expatriate fled the emergency department of Brahmanbaria General Hospital on Wednesday (March 18) afternoon.

ABM Musa Chowdhury, physician at the emergency department of the hospital, confirmed the matter.

ABM Musa said the 30-year-old Qatar expatriate returned to Bangladesh on March 3. On Wednesday (March 18), he went to the emergency department of Brahmanbaria General Hospital with fever, cold, cough and respiratory problems.

After giving him primary treatment, doctor advised him to get admitted to the hospital, he said.

The patient fled the hospital after hearing that he will be tested for coronavirus, ABM Musa said.
