Farmer dies of coronavirus in Gopalganj

A farmer has died of coronavirus infection in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj, raising the total death toll in the district to seven.

Akkas Ali Khan, 61, passed away while undergoing treatment at his house at Bahara Charpara village of the upazila around 5 pm on Thursday (June 18).

Dr Mahmudur Rahman, an officer of the upazila health complex, confirmed his death this evening.

Akkas Ali showed symptoms similar to that of coronavirus several days ago. On June 15, his sample was collected and sent it to Bhanga upazila health complex in Faridpur for Covid-19 test. Since then, he had been undergoing treatment at his house. But he died this afternoon. After his death, his Covid-19 test report came out positive, he said.
