‘Fashion has always been my passion’

Bushra Kabir, a young mother, an engineer, a fashion blogger and a traveler, recently sat down for an exclusive interview, sharing her experiences of working and different sights which are given below.

Hello, how are you?
Bushra Kabir:  Hello, I am good Alhamdulillah.

From where you completed your SSC and HSC?
Bushra Kabir: I have completed my SSC & HSC from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (both).

Tell us about your university life!
Bushra Kabir: Well, it was amazing. My bachelor degree was from North South University and I was a student of engineering department. So many sleepless nights! Had bittersweet memories, late night studies, phone chats, heartbreaks, long drives, studying in our beautiful library, in one line I had a blast in my bachelor life at NSU. My masters was from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). I moved to Australia right after our marriage. I was overly serious in my whole masters life. Even me and my husband we both used to stay at university the night before our exams. We had beautiful study lounge surrounded with mattress and sofas. UTS life was like 2 years and I was just into studies and travelling.

How’s your life in Australia?
Bushra Kabir:  My Australia life is beautiful along with my husband. I have my little shongshar which I can call home. I am making it with my love. It is very tough because I have to maintain everything, there is everyday cooking and cleaning and many more but it's valuable, Alhamdulillah. It is more precious now because I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, Warizah there.

Where are you working right now?
Bushra Kabir: I am a retail supervisor in Sydney.

Where you used to live in your childhood? Tell us one memorable story from your childhood.
Bushra Kabir: I used to live in Dhanmondi. My school life is my childhood memory. Can’t remember much but I was very famous at school for being so naughty.
 

Do you want to give any advice to an 18 years old yourself?
Bushra Kabir: Be yourself. Don’t go overboard at your age.

Is there anything that you wanted to achieve from your childhood and now you get it? If yes, then what is this and how do you achieve this?
Bushra Kabir: Not yet. Still working on it. I want to see myself as CEO of any big company.

In this moment we all know we have got some precious free time. So, what are you doing this time? Are you doing something productive? Then share it with us! We would love to know your activities.
Bushra Kabir: Honestly, I don’t have any free time because I am on a run 24/7. I have a  6-month little baby. I like to do each and everything by myself.  Because I don't believe that you need a village to raise your child. It’s wrong. If you have that will as a mother then you can do everything. And its my choice. It's very tough but not impossible so I actually don’t have any free time to be honest. Spending time with her in various ways is my favourite activity at this moment.

What is your dream job?
Bushra Kabir: I want to be the CEO at Google or APPLE.

As we see now you are a mother of a baby girl, First of all congratulations to you. Would like to share what’s her name and as now you got some time, how the time passes with her?
Thank you so much. Her name is Warizah Rukhsar Manzur. We play around here and there since she is very little so mostly play on the playmate or bed. We roam around to our balcony and terrace too because we are in quarantine now.

We have seen that you love to travel! How many countries did you visit? And what was the first country you visited in your life?
Bushra Kabir: I haven’t counted yet. Probably 16-17 and my first trip was in India.

So, I must say you have a very good taste when it comes to fashion. There are so many things needed to focus on to make a good look we all know. But how do you manage them all? Who is your inspiration behind them? Or you created them on your own?
Bushra Kabir: Thank you so much. Fashion has always been my passion. It is something that I enjoy to create or recreate. I look upto Kareena Kapoor in bollywood as she is my favourite. Then Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Madhubala and more. But most importantly I like to stay in trend.
 

In your path of life (till now) did you face any negativity? If yes, then how did you fight them?
Bushra Kabir: Yes a lot. From my school life to till now I faced many bullies and negativity. I used to remain shut but now I tell them in front of their face if something wrong happens. I speak for myself now because nobody will love you than yourself.

After 10 years where do you want to see yourself?
Bushra Kabir: I want to see myself in the biggest and highest position in Apple.

In your journey who were always beside you and whom you want to say thanks the most?
Bushra Kabir: I want to thank my family.
