Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari route halted

Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route has been suspended due to dense fog.

The ferry service remained halted since 9:30pm on Sunday.

Confirming the matter to risingbd, Shahjahan Mia, Marine Engineer at the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said the ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route was suspended yesterday at 9:30pm due to dense fog.

Six ferries were stuck in the middle of Padma river and over 200 vehicles were waiting at the both sides of ferry ghat to cross the river, he said.
