First coronavirus patient detected in Khulna

First coronavirus or COVID-19 patient has been detected in Khulna.

The 62-year-old was found to be infected with coronavirus after his sample tests with polymer chain reaction (PCR) machine of Microbiology Department of Khulna Medical College on Monday (April 13).

Following this, his house in the city has been locked down, said Dr Md. Sujat Ahmed, civil surgeon of Khulna.

The COVID-19 infected patient is a resident of Karimnagar area of Khulna city. He went to Narsingdi to attend Tablighi Jamaat on December 6 last and returned home with fever, cold and cough on April 4.
