Five minor girls drown as boat sinks in water body

Jamalpur Correspondent: Five minor girls have drowned as a small boat sank in a flooded water body at Sarishabari in Jamalpur.

The incident took place in a water body of the upazila’s Kalikapur village on Thursday noon.

The deceased were known as Subarna, 17, Jhuma, 14, daughters of Khabir Uddin of Kalikapur village, Antora, 10, daughter of Golam Mostafa, Rudsi, 8, daughter of Ripon Shikder and Jannat, 10, daughter of Jobanur Rahman. They both are from Batikamari. They all are cousins. Of them, Subarna and Jhuma’s father is Oman expatriate.

Inspector Mohabbat Hossain, also In-Charge of Tarakandi Police Probe Centre, confirmed the news.
