Food items being distributed among poor in Satkhira

The local administration is distributing food items among the poor people in Satkhira as they are facing food crisis during the countrywide shutdown.

On Sunday night, Tala UNO Md Iqbal Hossain reached different items to the houses of poor people. The items include rice, lentil, oil, potato and soap.  

Rezaul Islam, a cancer patient at Srimantakati village of Tala upazila, said “No one came to see them but we are happy that UNO came and gave us food items”.

According to sources, food items were distributed among the poor at different villages of Tala sadar union, Khalilnagar union and Jalalpur union of the upazila.

Tala UNO Iqbal Hossain said “The poor are suffering a lot due to countrywide shutdown and urged the rich to stand by the helpless people during this situation”.
