Gazipur RMG factory shut amid workers' demand

Authorities of a ready made garment factory in Gazipur have been forced to announce closure of its factory in the face of workers demonstrating over coronavirus fears.

Workers of Bais Fashion Garment Factory in Shataish area of Gazipur City Corporation firstly observed work abstention on Saturday  (March 28) morning demanding closure of the factory due to coronavirus.

Afterwards, they started demonstration to press home their demand, forcing the authorities to shut down their factory.

Gazipur's Gacha police station officer-in-charge Ismail Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said the workers left the factory after the authorities announced its shutdown.
