Gazipur factory fire: Bodies identified

At least 10 workers were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a fan factory in Gazipur on Sunday evening.

All the deceased have been identified, and DNA tests are being performed for handing over the bodies to their relatives.

The deceased are Parvej, son of Lal Mia in Gazipur City Corporation, Md Tariqul Islam, son of Selim Mia at Raghobpur in Mymensingh, Md Selim, son of Hamid Mia in Dinajpur,  Mohammd Foisal Khan, son of Saiful Islam at Kalni village in Gazipur sadar upazila, Uttam Chadro Das, son Nirmal Chandro Das of the same village, Shamim, son of Nazrul Islam at Marta village under Sreepur in Gazipur, Rashed, son of Kamal Hossain of the same village, Faridul Islam, son of Tajul Islam in Rangpur, Sajal Mia, son of Maju Mia in Narsigndi, and Yousuf Mia in Brahmanbaria.

The fire started on the second floor of the three-storey factory of Luxury Fan in Kashorita area around 5:30pm.

The rescuers found the bodies after four units of the fire service brought the fire under control around 7:30pm.
