Gazipur hotel blast leaves 18 injured

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Eighteen people including three sustaining burns were injured in an explosion on the ground floor of a hotel in the city’s Board Bazar area early Sunday.
All the injured are undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Md Atikur Rahman, station officer of Tongi fire station, told risingbd that an explosion took place at a hotel named ‘Radhuni Restaurant’ on the ground floor of a three-storey building in the city’s Board Bazar area around 2:00 am, leaving 18 people injured.
On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze and conducted a rescue operation there, he said.
The reason behind the explosion could not be known immediately, he added.
Nayek Mozammel Hossain of DMCH police outpost confirmed the matter saying 18 people were admitted to the hospital out of them three are reported to have sustained burns and one is critically injured.
