HC issues rule over Ctg waterlogging

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has issued rule asking the authorities concern as to why they should not be ordered to take comprehensive moves for removing waterlogging of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).

Justice Zubaer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir came up with the rule on Sunday.

Barrister Mohiuddin Md Hanif and Barrister Kazi Akter Hossain stood for the petition while Deputy Attorney General SM Moniruzzaman represented the state in the court.

Secretary for Local Government, Secretary for Public Works, Mayor and Chief Executive of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), Chairman of Chittagong Development Authority and Chairman of Chittagong WASA were asked to reply in this regard within two weeks.

Earlier on August 1, Barrister Mohiuddin Md Hanif (Farhad) filed the writ petition.
