Jamuna flows above danger level in Aricha

The overall flood situation in Manikganj has worsened as water of the Jamuna River is now flowing 69 centimetres above the danger level at Aricha point on Friday (July 17).

Water level surveyor Md Faruk Ahmed of water development board of Manikganj confirmed the matter.

He said, the water levels in Kaliganga, Isamati, Dhaleshwari Rivers have also increased. As a result, new areas are being flooded every day.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Ferdous said, 60 square kilometers of Shibalay, Daulatpur, Harirampur and Saturia have been flooded. A total of 130 metric tonnes of rice, 1,300 packets of dry food have been distributed among the flood affected people.
