Juba League leader shot dead by Rohingya criminals

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent:  A local leader of Juba League was shot dead allegedly by Rohingya criminals in Teknaf upazila on Thursday midnight.

The incident took place in Jadimura area of Hrila union of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk, 35, president of Hrila ward 9 unit of Juba League and son of Mohammad Murad alias Murad Company of Jadimura area of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Thana Prodip Kumar Das said Omar Faruk locked into an altercation with some criminals of Rohingya community at night, and one stage they forcibly picked up him and took him to hilly area.

Later, the criminals shoot Omar Faruk, leaving him dead on the spot.
