Key accused arrested over Gazipur quadruple murder

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested Parvej (20), the key mastermind in connection with the slaughtering of four members of a family in Jainabazar area of Sreepur upazila, Gazipur.

Parvej was arrested from Adabor area of Sreepur upazila on Sunday (April 26) night. He remained fugitive since the incident.

Confirming the matter to risingbd over phone on Monday (April 27) morning, PBI Inspector Hafizur Rahman said, "We conducted a drive to the area and arrested Parvej. He eventually confessed to killing the family and later revealed the whereabouts of the valuables he robbed from them after the murders."

“Acting on his information, we recovered pieces of gold jewellery, blood-soaked clothes, and a mobile phone--which belonged to the murdered family-- from his room,” the official added.

"We came to know initially that Parvej was professional killer," the PBI inspector further said.

Earlier on April 23, police had recovered throat slit bodies of four members of a family from a two-storey building in Jainabazar area of Telihati union under Sreepur upazila.

The incident took place at Adabar village of Jainabazar in the upazila in the afternoon.

Wife of an expatriate and her two daughters and a son were among the deceased.

The deceased were identified as Fatema Akter (40), wife of Kajal, a Malaysian expatriate from Golabari village in Langair Union of Pagla police station in Mymensingh, her eldest daughter Nura (14), youngest daughter Haorin (11) and disabled son Fadil (6). They had been living at Jainabazar area of ​​Sreepur in their house on purchased land.

Expatriate Kajal's younger brother Arif found them dead in their house and later informed police.

A case was filed with Sreepur police station accusing unnamed people the following day.
