The 12-year boy was tied on a tree and tortured
Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: A 12-year boy has been brutally tortured over allegedly stealing a mobile phone memory card in Puthia of Rajshahi.
The victim has been identified as Ariful Islam, son of Mohirul Islam of Tarapur village in Puthia.
Two people have been arrested in the incident. They are Ershad Ali, son of Asfar Ali and Shuvo Islam, son of Boru Mollah of the same village.
Witnesses said, Ershad and Shuvo tortured the boy tying him on a tree in front of Tarapur bazaar around 12.00pm on Tuesday accusing him of stealing a memory card. Paba Highway police rescued the boy and admitted him to Puthia Upazila Hospital.
Later, the victim's father filed as case against the duo on Tuesday night. Police then arrested the accused.
